6th Indic Film Utsav returns to Dallas in November

Indic Film Utsav, Dallas, 2025
After screening 250+ Indic-themed films with hope and positivity to audiences worldwide through an online platform for five years, Indic Film Utsav is transforming from online screens to the grandeur of the theatrical screens in November.
“Starting with this year, Dallas becomes the official home of Indic Film Utsav, bringing cinematic experiences to life the way they were meant to be seen—on the big screen, surrounded by an audience that breathes, feels, and celebrates storytelling together,” according to a press release.
6th Indic Film Utsav will bring a curated slate of compelling Indic-themed films across features, documentaries, and shorts for audiences in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin and everywhere else, to watch in-person in a theater in Dallas.

Indic Film Utsav which began during the Covid pandemic, launching as an online OTT model hosted a successful theatrical event in Dallas in November “which boosted our confidence and revealed strong local interest,” the release stated.
“With no Indian film festival currently in Dallas and a rapidly growing desi community, we saw an opportunity. We’ve now decided to transition into a fully theatrical, Dallas-based festival!”
Center for Indic Films (formerly Indica Pictures) firmly believes in the timelessness of cinema as an art form with the power to seed, nurture and nourish India’s pluralistic civilizational values, the release stated.
Indic Film Utsav is now accepting submissions from filmmakers for a 100% theatrical model. Winning entries in various categories will be judged for: Best Feature Film; Best Documentary and Best Short Film. Indic Film Utsav has chosen Film Freeway as the platform for filmmakers to submit their films.
While filmmakers can be of any nationality and live anywhere in the world, submissions must have a subject matter that pertains to India or is India-centric. Indic Film Utsav seeks films spanning across Indian arts and culture and everything else in-between.
