Putting a tragic end to a massive search that was underway to locate Soujanya Ramamaurthy, a 30-year-old woman from Redmond, Washington, was the discovery of her body from the nearby lake Sammamish.

Ramamurthy was reported missing on February 25. She was last seen near the Park Marymoor Bell Apartments in Redmond located some 8 miles from Seattle.

Soujanya’s husband Mudambi S Srivatsa works as a software engineer at Microsoft in Redmond. While the police are still investigating the case, there is as yet no confirmation on how the tragedy transpired.

A friend of the family has set up a Gofundme page to urge the community to pitch in for the cost of transporting Soujanya’s mortal remains to their hometown of Mysore in India.

A search campaign was on since the day she went missing and many were circulating posters of Soujanya across social media groups in the Indian community in the US.

The news of her death came as a shock and people have been bewildered about what may have led to this unfortunate turn of events. Friends and family members have shared stories about how kindhearted she was while strangers have expressed their sympathy for those closest to her during this difficult time.

After graduating from college in India Soujanya. moved to the United States where she quickly found work at Microsoft as a software engineer, according to a report in BCnews24.

Her husband was cited as saying that she had big dreams for herself and wanted to make sure that her family would always have enough money for whatever they needed. She was a hard worker who always put others before herself and loved helping people whenever possible.

Her husband, according to the news site described her as an extremely happy person who enjoyed being around friends and family. She also loved nature and animals, often going on hikes or spending time at the local park with her dog.
