Sehgal Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) private foundation that was established in 1998 and is based in Des Moines, Iowa. THE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS
The Sehgal Foundation is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Development and Partnerships professional to lead and implement all aspects of U.S. fundraising, including the solicitation, development, and stewardship of donors, including philanthropic, endowment, and corporate organizations that believe in the important mission of Sehgal Foundation and that are interested in providing financial support to accelerate The Foundation’s rural development programs and initiatives in India. The successful candidate selected for this critically important position will play a leading role in enhancing and expanding Sehgal Foundation’s financial resources to support the Foundation’s activities in India. She or he will lead the planning and execution of all fundraising events and development marketing in the U.S. This is a highly important position in the Sehgal Foundation’s organization supporting the Foundation’s continued success.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Development and Partnerships will be responsible for developing and implementing all U.S. fundraising strategies for Sehgal Foundation, including, however not limited to, the design, implementation, and execution of the Foundation’s annual fundraising strategy, with a focus on corporate and foundation donor support. The incumbent with be responsible for increasing brand awareness of Sehgal Foundation and its unique value proposition to U.S. institutional audiences, including the endowment, philanthropic, and corporate communities.
The Director of Development and Partnerships will be responsible for the logistical planning and implementation of financial development-related special events, including sponsorship, donor, and partnership receptions and dinners, partnership meetings, and partnership events.
The incumbent will originate, plan, and manage the writing of The Foundation’s fundraising proposals and partnership and stewardship information and materials in collaboration with the Foundation’s Executive Vice President.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree would be ideal.
The candidate selected for this important position will possess a minimum of three years of related, and successful, experience in fundraising and partner/donor relations with a proven track record for garnering large major gifts, as well as strong foundation and corporate fundraising experience.
The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to engage and develop successful relationships with donors, sponsors, and Foundation volunteers.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required with the ability to craft thoughtful personal communications, compelling fundraising proposals, and additional communications, as required, to support Sehgal Foundation’s fundraising requirements.
Knowledge of women’s empowerment, global development, and rural development experience in India would be ideal qualifications for the successful candidate for this position.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Director of Development and Partnerships reports to Sehgal Foundation’s Executive Vice President.
LOCATION
The location is open and is dependent on where the successful candidate selected for this position is currently located. This position is based in the U.S. and the candidate selected for this position may remain living in his or her current location.
