Indian American Impact has launched a campaign to galvanize voters across four key battleground states — Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina — where South Asian voters can be the decisive margin of victory for Kamala Harris.

The leading community political action group launched the campaign after Democratic presidential candidate bested her Republican rival Donald Trump in the Sep 10 debate.

During the debate “Harris showcased her vision for the path forward for our country: a path that includes economic fairness, expands access to healthcare, and protects our fundamental freedoms to vote, live safely, and have control over our bodies,” it said.

This transformative leadership will be won at the ballot box on Nov 5, the Impact said,  “and we’ll need all hands on deck between now and November to turn that vision into reality.”

The campaign which began Saturday, Sep 14 with a Kamala Ke Saath: Georgia South Asian Battleground Phonebank event culminates with a day of action in North Carolina — the newest toss up state on the 2024 presidential map— on Sunday, Sep 29.

The Sep 29 North Carolina Day of Action Canvass with Special Guests in Raleigh-Durham area includes “an exciting canvass launch with food, music, and distinguished speakers before we knock on doors and get out the Desi vote,” the Impact stated.

“Days of action will be large community door knocking canvasses that feature food, merch, networking, and a short program from local leaders, elected officials, celebrities, and influencers that are in this mission with us,” it said. “ No experience necessary as we’ll provide training and materials for canvassing at each event.”

The Sep 14 event in Georgia featured phone calls to South Asian voters  about the election and their support for the Democratic ticket across the battleground state.
