AAPI Victory Fund, AAPI leaders host Day of Action in support of Indian Democratic presidential nominee and local candidates

Indian Americans came out in large numbers as the AAPI Victory Fund and top AAPI leaders hosted a day of action over the weekend to drive grassroots momentum for the Harris-Walz ticket and AAPI candidates in the battleground state of Georgia.

Top community leaders coming out in support of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz included US Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), former Center for American Progress CEO and President Neera Tanden and AAPI Victory Fund Chairman Shekar Narasimhan.

The full day of action started with a canvass kickoff at Cauley Creek Park in Johns Creek, GA where volunteers gathered before knocking on doors for Harriz-Walz, State Representative Michelle Au  (GA HD-50), and  State Senate candidate Ashwin Ramaswami (GA-SD 48), according to a media release.

“Today’s event is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to uplift our communities,” said Jayapal. “Here in Georgia, the AAPI community is driving change, and it’s critical that we engage every voter to ensure their voices are heard at the ballot box. When we knock on doors and talk to our neighbors, we are not just supporting candidates—we are building a movement for fair wages, economic opportunity, and a democracy that works for all of us. I’m proud to stand with such passionate leaders and volunteers who are ready to fight for a better future.”

“This Day of Action showcases the strength and unity of the AAPI community here in Georgia and nationwide,” said Shekar Narasimhan, Chairman of the AAPI Victory Fund. “From small business owners to local leaders, our organization is taking an active role in shaping the future of our country, including in states like Georgia where the AAPI vote will be critical for Vice President Kamala Harris. The energy we saw today reflects our collective power. We are not just knocking on doors—we are opening doors to opportunity, equity, and representation for all.”
