Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar made a special appearance at the iconic Texas-Oklahoma University (TX-OU) football game over the weekend and again as a guest of honor at the Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday night.

Tendulkar, a co-owner of the National Cricket League (NCL), also spent time Sunday morning with young athletes at the University of Texas at Dallas, teaching cricket to students.

“His visit is a key part of the NCL’s commitment to giving back, using cricket as a tool for empowerment and growing the sport at the grassroots level,” according to an NCL release. “Tendulkar is already making a difference in the lives of aspiring cricketers, inspiring the next generation and promoting cricket in communities where the sport is still emerging.”

“Cricket has given me so much, and now it’s my turn to give back,” said Sachin Tendulkar, co-owner of the NCL. “I’m excited to meet these young players in Dallas and show them that with dedication and passion, anything is possible.”

“This isn’t just about the game, it’s about changing lives,” said Arun Agarwal, Chairman of the NCL. “To have someone of Sachin’s stature teaching these kids is monumental. We’re giving them hope, opportunities, and a dream they never thought possible—while also blending the excitement of cricket with the energy of entertainment.”

The NCL is introducing its revolutionary 60 Strikes format—a fast-paced, dynamic version of cricket designed to captivate US sports fans. Combining the excitement of the game with high-energy entertainment, the league has created a fusion of sports and culture like never before.

Each day during the tournament running until Oct 14 at UT Dallas, fans are treated to live Bollywood performances following every match, offering a unique cultural experience that bridges the gap between cricket and entertainment.
