Vishwachand Kolla was killed in a freak accident while waiting to pick a friend at Boston airport

In a tragic incident, a 47-year-old Indian man was killed in a freak accident while he had gone to pick up a friend from Boston Logan International Airport.

The incident happened at the lower level of terminal B of the airport in Massachusetts where Vishwachand Kolla was standing on the driver’s side of his Acura SUV.

The middle portion of Dartmouth Transportation motor coach, according to reports, made contact with Kolla and he was dragged along the driver’s side of his SUV, the State Police spokesman Dave Procopio stated.

An off-duty nurse who was a bystander immediately rushed to perform life-saving procedures. However, Kolla was pronounced dead when the ambulance arrived.

The driver of the bus was a 54-year-old woman who was interrogated and the bus was inspected. However, the driver has not been charged as yet. The investigations are ongoing.

Kolla hailed from Andhra Pradesh and worked with Takeda Pharmaceuticals’ global oncology department.

“Our deepest sympathies are with everyone impacted by this evening’s incident at Logan Airport. We’re working in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police and Massport to gather further information,” Dartmouth Coach stated.

Kolla had been employed with Takeda Pharmaceuticals for over two years and had an extensive work experience in the US. He had also worked at the Boston Consulting Group as a project leader.

He was also a manager of analytics at Deloitte in the past. He was also employed with IBM and Sun Microsystems. A graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Kolla also studied at the University of Denver and at Carnegie Mellon University.

Kolla was an active member of the Telugu community in the Greater Boston Area. His cremation was held at Cremation Society of New Hampshire in Manchester.

He is survived by his wife, Soujanya, who is a Masters student and sons Dhruva and Madhav who are in 9th and 2nd grade.
