 Anjali Sud to lead Tubi streaming service as new CEO

The Indian American executive had been CEO of video platform Vimeo since 2017

Indian American business executive Anjali Sud has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Fox Corporation’s free ad-supported streaming service which recently became the most watched such TV streaming service in the US.

Sud takes over the role from Tubi founder Farhad Massoudi, who had announced his departure in April. She begins in the role on Sep 1 and will report to Paul Cheesbrough, CEO of Tubi Media Group, according to a media release.

Sud has been CEO of Vimeo since July 2017. During her tenure, the platform established itself as the home for video creators and professionals worldwide, building a thriving community of over 300 million users and generating scaled revenue growth and significant cash flow.

She previously served as general manager and head of marketing at Vimeo and also held positions at Amazon and Time Warner. She has a BSc from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Tubi one of the first in media industry to provide free access to great entertainment for millions, offers the world’s largest content library of 50,000 titles through a hyper-personalized platform that was purpose built for diverse stories, audiences and advertisers, the release said.

Tubi reaches 64 million monthly active users and recently surpassed PlutoTV, Peacock and HBO Max in total TV viewing minutes, according to Nielsen.

Tubi is at the core of Fox’s digital business unit, Tubi Media Group, which includes Tubi, AdRise, Blockchain Creative Labs and Credible, as well as the digital platforms and teams that underpin Fox’s wider digital business in news, sports and entertainment.
