 Atlanta Indian Film Festival to showcase 20 Indian films

Since 2018, the Atlanta Indian Film Festival (AIFF) has been showcasing Indian cinema to the people of Atlanta, Georgia, and introducing visiting Indian directors, actors, and producers to the state’s movie production infrastructure and subsidies.

 

AIFF 2025 has three premier events including the reception, workshops, and showcasing of Indian movies from September 26 to 28 at the Tara Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Our commitment to quality films, exceptional events and incomparable customer care keep our community coming back again and again,” says a media release noting, five very successful AIFFs have been held in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 besides a virtual one in 2021 during the Covid pandemic.

 

While bringing Indian cinema to the city, the festival also seeks to bring the city, its film producing resources and the incentives it offers to the visiting Indian directors, actors, and producers, the release says.

 

Indian film and television actor, Shishir Sharma and Atlanta based stand-up comedian Zain Sharif will feature as special guests at the festival.

Sharma starrer, ‘Rasa,’ will also feature on the last day of the festival. Sharma is a versatile actor known for his compelling performances in over 40 films and numerous television serials, including notable roles in serials, ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann’ and ‘Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli’, along with hit films such as ‘Raazi’ and ‘Chhichhore’.

 

Close to 20 Indian films will be showcased at AIFF. Notable films featuring at the festival include Mohammed Ali Rukadikar’s ‘The Great Giant Wheel of Life’, Mukti Krishnan’s ‘The Leopard,’ Kapil Tanwar’s ‘Ru Ba Ru’, Sushank Verma’s ‘Ek Wajah (The Reason),’ Manahar Kumar’s ‘Badlav Republic,’ Ganesh Chowgule’s ‘Mera School,’ Jagat Joon’s ‘2 Khet,’ and Sonu Chowdhary’s ‘Omlo.’
