“Some news: I joined Stripe two and a half years ago to help the company accelerate its growth trajectory and continue its mission to increase the GDP of the internet. I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made,” the Indian American executive announced on LinkedIn.
“That said, I have made the difficult decision to step away from my role at Stripe, as I will be taking some time off to attend to family matters,” she wrote. “Given everything going on at the company, I’ll be working closely with the team until April to ensure a smooth transition.”
“My time at Stripe has been a tremendous learning experience. Beyond Finance, I had the fortune of leading our Operations, Risk and Global Partnerships teams,” Suryadevara wrote.
“I have been consistently blown away by the quality of the people I work with and have immense confidence in Stripe’s business and leadership,” she added. “Stripe is and will continue to be an exceptional organization.”
John Collison, Stripe’s co-founder and president, will lead the firm’s finance organization while a search for Suryadevara’s replacement is begun, Bloomberg reported, citing an unnamed source.
“While Dhivya joined as a CFO, her role and impact grew quickly, and many critical parts of the company benefited from her leadership,” Chief Executive Officer Patrick Collison, who co-founded the company with his brother John, said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg News. “We’re fortunate to have worked with her over these last two and a half years, and wish her the very best for the future.”
