Donald Trump thinks Vivek Ramaswamy is “great”

Former president Donald Trump leading the Republican presidential race has heaped praise on his rival Indian American hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy setting off speculation that he may be looking at the biotech entrepreneur as his running mate.
“Well, I think he’s great,” Trump said in response to a question in Tuesday’s episode of Glenn Beck’s series “The Glenn Beck Program.”
“Look, anybody that said I’m the best president in a generation…I don’t know, you’d have to define ‘generation’ — it’s a long time,” Trump told the conservative media personality.
“You said that you weren’t going, but you would be watching, the debate for a vice president. Have you thought of Vice President [Vivek] Ramaswamy?” Beck questioned Trump, who was connected to the show through a phone call.
During Ramaswamy’s debate against Florida governor Ron DeSantis, he said it was a “fact” that Trump was the “best president of the 21st century.”
Trump said Ramaswamy’s compliments sparked his admiration for the 38-year-old.

“I have to like a guy like that,” Trump said. I can’t get upset with him. But he’s a smart guy. He’s a young guy, he’s got a lot of talent. He’s a very very — a very intelligent person. He’s got good energy, and he could be some form of something. I tell ya, I think he’d be very good. I think he’s very good. I think he’s really distinguished himself.”
But in the same breath, Trump said Ramaswamy was getting a bit contentious. “He’s starting to get out there a little bit, he’s getting a little bit controversial, I guess tell him to be a little bit carful,” Trump said without elaborating.

Ramaswamy should find some restraint, said Trump suggesting,“Some things you have to hold in just a little bit, right?”
Trump’s praise for a rival candidate has sparked speculation that he may chose Ramaswamy as his running mate for his third presidential run in November 2024.
Ramaswamy’s popularity rating and online fundraising has surged since the first Republican presidential primary debate on Aug 23.
The NBC News described the debate as “Vivek Ramaswamy Show.” He is now tied with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at the second place in the Republican primary polls, but both of them lag significantly behind Trump who leads with 56 percent.

Ramaswamy is the third Indian-American — along with former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley and Hirsh Vardhan Singh — to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination.
Born to Indian immigrants parents in Ohio, Ramaswamy attended Harvard University, where he studied molecular biology and later obtained a law degree from Yale Law School.
He is a serial entrepreneur and founded Roivant Sciences in 2014, a biopharmaceutical company that focuses on developing and commercializing innovative therapies. The company is worth over $6.3 billion and applies new technological advances to drug research.
