Huma Abedin gets engaged to Alex Soros

Huma Abedin, a Democratic political insider of Indian and Pakistani descent, and Alex Soros, the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, are engaged, according to media reports.

Page Six cited sources to report Soros popped the question six weeks ago, and the couple were spotted recently celebrating the happy news in Italy.

“The best way I can describe the relationship is effortless,” a friend of Abedin’s for over 15 years told Page Six. “After a lot of tumultuous years for Huma, she’s relaxed and happy and in love,” the insider added.

The couple also confirmed their engagement with a joint post on Instagram.

“this happened…we couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love ❤️ 😍 💍,” they captioned a photo of the investor on one knee.

Abedin, 47, and Soros, 38, were first linked earlier this year when the duo posted a cozy pic from a Paris restaurant for Valentine’s Day. They subsequently attended the 2024 Met Gala together in May.

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s former deputy chief of staff has also been seen leaving her now-fiancé’s apartment downtown in NYC, Page Six reported. Abedin has long been considered a “second daughter” to Clinton, it said.

Alex’s dad, George Soros — who made his money in hedge funds and is worth $6.7 billion, according to Forbes — was one of the top 10 donors to Hillary’s presidential run in 2016, contributing more than $9.5 million to the campaign.

It’s certainly a happy ending for Abedin, who has a son with her ex, disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner. They separated in 2016 — years after he was first caught sending inappropriate messages online.

It will be Soros’ first marriage.

Newly engaged Abedin flashed her stunning diamond ring from billionaire Soros while going out in New York City Wednesday, Page Six reported.

She was spotted heading into an Upper West Side restaurant wearing an orange midi dress! tortoiseshell sunglasses, a gold watch, a diamond bracelet, brown heels and a matching Hermès Birkin bag. Most notably, she wore her gargantuan princess-cut engagement ring to complete her outfit.
