A pioneer business leader, Srinivasa, served as Executive Director of US India Security Council

Krishna V Srinivasa, a pioneer Indian American community leader, who served as Executive Director of US India Security Council, a Washington, DC, non-profit engaged in increasing interaction between the two countries’ security communities, passed away Nov 18, in Florida. He was 80.

A pioneer business leader, Srinivasa was one of the first entreprenuers to bring Indian programmers into USA in the eighties and his company — Professional Consulting Services — was a pioneer in software development, data processing and staffing. He mentored many IT companies that flourished into huge companies, including the US operations of Tata Consulting Services (TCS).

Srinivasa was also a pioneer for advocacy for US India relations and his great commitment and work in strengthening the relations of the two democracies.

He worked very closely with many influential US presidents like Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, and George W Bush, House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Senator John McCain, Gary Ackerman, Benjamin Gillman, Joseph Crowley, Bob Menendez and other influential law makers that shaped US India relationships.

Srinivasa also worked closely with many Indian Prime Ministers including Rajiv Gandhi, PV Narasimha Rao, Atal Behari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi.

He was instrumental in working on many landmark initiatives that shaped US India relations. In the late eighties he had negotiated with Indian Government to allow refueling of American planes during the Iraq war under President HW Bush.

Srinivasa was also very actively involved and helped in the US India Civil Nuclear deal, He played a very important role and worked with Late Senator John McCain in getting the US-India strategic defense agreement signed. He mentored many Indian American community leaders, especially in Indian American Forum for Political Education which played a very vital role in US-India partnership in eighties and nineties.

He served as President Indian American Forum for Political Education in mid eighties. Srinivasa was a Delegate to the National White House Conference on small business under President Reagan.
