Indian American Impact Fund vow to continue fight for a just America

The Indian American Impact Fund, leading South Asian political advocacy group, has vowed to continue its “ongoing fight for an America that upholds the values of equity, justice, and unity” despite the  “devastating setback” of Kamala Harris’ defeat.

“While the outcome of this election is a devastating setback—not only in terms of our values but also for the millions of women and South Asian Americans who hoped to see themselves reflected in our next president,” Chintan Patel, Executive Director of Indian American Impact Fund, stated.

“We are deeply proud of the powerful movement that Vice President Kamala Devi Harris inspired and our community built together,” he stated thanking the community for standing with it, for “Harris, and for a future that represents us all.”

“In this election, we saw an unprecedented surge of engagement from our community, with thousands of first-time donors, volunteers, and advocates coming forward to support Kamala Devi Harris and the agenda she championed,” he stated in a press release.

“Impact’s campaign was always about more than one election; it was about building an enduring movement that amplifies South Asian American voices and shows the strength of our commitment to democracy,” Patel stated.

“The energy, passion, and dedication we cultivated will continue to persevere. Impact remains committed to channeling this momentum into advancing our community’s priorities and fighting back against MAGA extremism wherever it emerges,” he stated.

“Our resolve is stronger than ever. The groundwork we’ve laid is just the beginning, and we will carry this energy forward in our ongoing fight for an America that upholds the values of equity, justice, and unity. We are not going back.”

Impact’s organizing program reached 182,000+ South Asian voters across four critical battleground states with multiple touches, including targeted canvassing, phonebanking, postcards, mail, and WhatsApp messages, the release noted.

“Additionally, through our largest-ever ad campaign and six-figure influencer program, we reached hundreds of thousands of South Asian and AAPI voters on TV, digital, and radio platforms, amplifying our impact and connecting with voters where they were,” the release stated.

Since its inception in 2016, Indian American Impact Fund has endorsed and supported 191 candidates across the country, contributing to the historic rise of Indian and South Asian American representation in politics, the release noted.
