Indian American Impact launches Desis Lead Fall 2024 program

The program is designed to equip South Asian Americans with the necessary tools to run for public office

Indian American Impact, a leading community political advocacy organization, Monday announced the launch of its second Intensive Desis Lead program to provide South Asian Americans necessary tools to run for public office and become effective community leaders.

“Whether you are still deciding if you want to run or are ready to launch your campaign, Impact’s Desis Lead program will provide the guidance and support you need,” the organization said announcing the opening of applications for the program.

This program is designed to empower and equip South Asian Americans with the tools, knowledge, and network needed to run for public office and become effective community leaders, it said.

Indian American Impact said it was excited to continue the momentum of the “tremendous success” of its Spring 2024 cohort with its Fall 2024 cohort.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to take your first step toward becoming a leader in public service,” it suggested noting participants had praised the mentorship, training sessions, and the strong sense of community built throughout the first program.

The 10-week Desis Lead Fall Intensive will feature a cohort experience with weekly community-building sessions, workshops, trainings, group discussions, mentor meetings, and virtual programs.
