The virtual event on July 27 aims to mobilize and register voters in battleground states

The Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community is celebrating a historic moment with the nomination of Kamala Harris, the first Asian American on a major party ticket for the U.S. presidency.

The AAPI Victory Fund, a political action committee founded by Indian American Shekar Narasimhan, is organizing a virtual celebration to honor Harris’ groundbreaking nomination and to mobilize the AANHPI community for action.

Scheduled for Saturday, July 27, at 2 PM ET (11 AM PT), the event will bring together supporters from across the nation. It will not only recognize Harris’ achievements but also serve as a call to action for the AANHPI community to actively participate in the democratic process.

The celebration will include roll call registration and will provide attendees with information on the importance of mobilizing the AANHPI community. Participants will learn about the steps needed to take action and the role they can play in the upcoming election. The event will also function as a fundraiser, with proceeds directed towards on-the-ground support to mobilize AANHPI voters in key battleground states such as Michigan, Nevada, and North Carolina.

The virtual event aims to rally supporters and equip them with the tools and knowledge necessary to make a significant impact in the election. By focusing on mobilizing voters in battleground states, the AANHPI community seeks to ensure their voices are heard and that they play a crucial role in the democratic process.
