Ronak Jani joins University of California Merced advisory board
Ronak M. Jani, Indian American managing Director of the Jani Group of Companies has joined the University of California Merced’s (UC Merced) external advisory board (EAB).
In his new role, Jani provides strategic advice and direction from his extensive experience and knowledge in the finance sector to boost the leadership of the university, according to a university press release.
“I am excited to join the UC Merced External Advisory Board and support the university’s mission of providing a world-class education to students from all backgrounds,” Jani stated.
“I believe UC Merced has the potential to be a major force in innovation and I am committed to helping the university achieve its ambitious goals,” he added.
A well-known executive with over 20 years of expertise in the financial sector, Jani serves as the managing director of the Jani Group of Companies, a multigenerational family business. The New York-based company serves as a global marketplace offering venture capital firms and international financial services.
Jani graduated from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business in New York with a bachelor’s of business administration in Public Accounting and an MBA in Financial Management.
He holds certifications in the fundamentals of quantitative modeling from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and is a certified commercial investment manager from Chicago-based CCIM Institute.
With a portfolio of over $750 million in America and $1 billion globally, Jani has led successful commercial development transactions, banking instrument transactions, and innovation. He has collaborated with Fortune 100 companies to enhance mutual business operations.
Jani has also served on the boards of Lion’s Club, Rockland County Conservatory of Music, and Indus Entrepreneurs’ ‘TiE’ New York chapter, a Silicon Valley based organization with over 12,000 members in 12 countries supporting start-ups and experienced entrepreneurs.
The EAB of UC Merced School of Engineering works in tandem with the dean of Engineering to cultivate strategic partnerships, improve response to engineering requirements, and carry out essential development initiatives for the school’s long-term professional and academic objectives
Reputable people from a range of businesses make up the UC Merced External Advisory Board to counsel and advise the institution on strategic issues. The members of the board are selected based on their qualifications, background, and dedication to the goals of UC Merced, according to the release.
