South Asians for Biden to kick off campaign to mobilize voters ahead of 2024 presidential election
South Asians for Biden prepares to rally support and amplify voices in lead-up to 2024 presidential election
South Asians for Biden, a grassroots organization formed during the 2020 campaign, will kick off a campaign to mobilize the South Asian vote across the United States for the 2024 presidential cycle.
The organization will relaunch its efforts with an event scheduled for April 25, which will feature more than 25 speakers including Biden-Harris campaign officials, South Asian elected officials, and political and advocacy figures. The event will include live and virtual components, starting at 8 pm ET.
Among the participants will be Biden-Harris Administration officials, members of Congress, Democratic National Committee and state Democratic Party chairs, and advocacy leaders focusing on issues such as domestic policy, reproductive rights, and gun violence prevention, the organization said in a press release. The event will also highlight prominent South Asian figures in the country.

“The participation of so many respected political, policy, and advocacy figures shows the growing importance of South Asians as a key voting bloc,” said Harini Krishnan, Co-National Director of South Asians for Biden. “We are excited to re-launch South Asians for Biden as the election season ramps up in 2024, and re-engage with the South Asian community nationwide.”
South Asians for Biden, which played a significant role in mobilizing South Asian voters in the 2020 presidential election, aims to build on its past success. Through direct voter contact, digital campaigns, and grassroots organizing, the organization reached several hundred thousand South Asian and AAPI voters in key states, contributing to an electoral victory for President Biden and Vice President Harris.

“At a time when there is so much at stake, outreach to our growing, diverse, and increasingly impactful South Asian community is critical,” said Neha Dewan, Founder and Co-National Director of South Asians for Biden. “Given that we will most likely be facing razor-thin margins in several key battleground states, our tried-and-true grassroots approach will include both widely and deeply engaging with our community to ensure that South Asians are seen and heard in this election.”
With just over six months until the presidential election, South Asians for Biden will focus on community organizing, voter turnout initiatives, and coalition-building efforts. The organization’s strategy will include disaggregated voter data, in-language voter outreach, and combating disinformation through tailored communication campaigns.
